This Is the Day — Marveling in the Will of God

Updated: Apr 20

“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” - Psalm 118:24

There are moments when Scripture stops being something you read…

and becomes something you live. This morning, I found myself praying through Psalm 118 again, and what once felt like scattered verses became a clear declaration of victory, alignment, and trust in the will of God.

This Is the Day

“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” - Psalm 118:24

This is not just another day. This is the Lord’s doing. And it is marvelous in our eyes. God’s will is perfect. And I find myself in a place where I can say with confidence:

I only want His thoughts and His plans for me—because they are marvelous in my eyes.

From Narrow Places to Large Places

“I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.” (Psalm 118:5)

There were seasons that felt narrow.

Tight.

Confined.

Moments where the pressure was real and the path was unclear.

But God…

He answers.

He responds.

And He brings you into a large place—a place of expansion, clarity, and freedom.

The Lord Is On My Side

“The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?” (Psalm 118:6)

This is the confidence of a Destiny Chaser.

Man cannot hold me back.

Man cannot stop what God has ordained.

Man cannot block the blessings or the will of God for my life.

The promises of God stand.

He will make a way.

Trust Is Everything

“It is better to trust in the Lord…” (Psalm 118:8)

I trust in the Lord.

Not in what I see.

Not in what I feel.

Not in what others say.

But in the One who has already determined the outcome.

And because I trust Him:

“In the name of the Lord will I be victorious!”

In Spite of the Battle

The enemy came heavy.

The pressure was real.

The opposition was intentional.

“They compassed me about… they compassed me about…” (Psalm 118:11)

The enemy sought for me to fall.

But the Lord helped me.

And because He helped me:

“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” (Psalm 118:17)

Not die physically.

Not die spiritually.

Not be defeated.

I will live.

And I will declare what God has done.

Jesus — The Victory They Didn’t Expect

Psalm 118 shifts.

It moves from David’s testimony…

to a prophetic declaration fulfilled in

Triumphal Entry

“The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.” (Psalm 118:22)

Jesus Christ was the stone they rejected. When He entered Jerusalem, the people shouted:

“Save now! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!”

They were declaring victory, but they did not understand what victory looked like.

His ministry had reached its pinnacle.

But the victory they expected…looked different than the victory God had ordained.

Victory Requires Alignment

And this is where it becomes personal. Victory didn’t look like what they expected. And if we’re not careful, we can miss our moment the same way.

Because real victory requires:

Surrender

Trust

Sacrifice

But when it is God’s will—it is always marvelous in our eyes.

Send Now Prosperity

“I beseech thee, O Lord: send now prosperity.” (Psalm 118:25)

This is my prayer. This is my declaration. Lord—send now prosperity.

Not just in resources, but in:

Purpose

Alignment

Forward movement

Manifestation of Your will

Victory and prosperity come from the Lord.

And I receive it.

Closing Declaration

This is the day.

The Lord has made it.

The Lord has established it.

The Lord has aligned it.

And I will rejoice.

Because what He is doing—is marvelous in my eyes.
